Tulu proverb
In Tulu, language, there are many proverbs. One of them as follows which I think is an example of nature of people.
Aapina mata anne, anne : aayi bokka doome, tome.
ಆಪಿನ ಮಟ ಅಣ್ಣೆ ,ಅಣ್ಣೆ : ಆಯಿ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ದೂಮೆ ,ತೋಮೆ .
The meaning:
People till their work has to be done, call others as anna (brother) in a tone of brotherhood. But after the work is done or over, they really dont remember the person who has helped them. Doome, tome refers to people who are less known.
Aapina mata : Work which has to be done
anne, anne : the tone of brotherhood
aayi bokka : after the work is finished
doome,tome : it refers to the people we dont know at all
