Why is blood red?

                                 Why is blood red?

So, it is easier to spot !
Blood is red because of red blood cells. Their sheer number lends their red colour to the blood. As the young red blood cell matures, it takes adult form in its birth place i.e. bone marrow loses its nucleus. Then it increases the production of hemoglobin Hemoglobin is the RED PIGMENT.
When blood passes through lungs , oxygen piggybacks on hemoglobin of red blood cells. From there, the red blood cells carry the oxygen through arteries to all cells of the body. Carbon di oxide from cells gets attached to red blood cells in the same manner and then returns to lungs.
.Blood has many other components besides  red blood cells. It has white blood cells which are the part of immune system of body.
