Why there is sea erosion in coastline of Karnataka?
Monsoon has entered Karnataka. Since 3 days , it is raining heavily in our area. Since my place comes in sea belt , it is a common problem of sea erosion here.
If we go to sea shore, we can see by ourselves what is sea erosion? Even in the news papers, they give report with pictures.
I always wondered why sea erosion is more in our state? The scientific reason is , here the level of ground is below to that of sea. That means, sea water is in higher altitude than the ground. Thats why , if there is more rain and if sea becomes harsh, then it will find more space to grab.
Since ground level is below to that of level of sea, sea water naturally enters the ground. We can illustrate it by an overflowing water tank.
But why is this scenario? We know that Parashuram had asked with King of sea to give him land so that he can bring people . King of sea agreed and sea went behind , thus giving the land to Parashuram. Though this is a story, now I realise what is the reason.
Since the coast line was under sea , the sea level is higher to that of ground. That is the reason for sea erosion here.
