Koun Banega Karodpati question

 Recently telecasted Koun Banega Karodpati program had this astronomical question.

In 1989, in which planet the great dark spot, a storm of the size of earth is discovered ?

1. Saturn

2. Uranus

3. Neptune

4. Jupiter

We all know about the great Red spot of jupiter.

 

It is the persistent high pressure region in the atmosphere of jupiter.

It produces an anti cyclonic storm such huge in size that it is visible even in the telescope. 

Now these facts are well known to everyone. I could say that the answer is jupiter.

Even the participant thought like me  !!

He said the answer is jupiter.

Question is for Rs 640000.

Amitabh Bachchan repeatedly asked whether is he confident  ?

Participant was firm about his decision and locked the answer.

But result is different. 

It is Neptune  !!!

I thought how it can be possible ?? Since my school days, I have been thinking that it is jupiter.

Then Amitabh Bachchan asked the participant to read the question once again. 

Question is about great dark spot not the great Red spot   !!!

Great dark spot was one of a series of dark spots on Neptune similar in appearance to Jupiter's great Red spot.

Like  Jupiter's spot, even great dark spots are anti cyclonic storms.  But they are cloud free unlike Jupiter's red spot.

Moral   :  It is very important to read the question carefully before answering.
