Dambha was a demon who was also a great devotee of God Vishnu.
Dambha had no son. Upon the advice of his guru, Shukracharya, he started doing a great penance seeking for a son.
God Vishnu blessed Dambha with an invincible son who will conquer the 3 worlds.
Likewise Dambha had a son, Shankhachuda. In his previous birth, Shankhachuda was Sudhama, friend of Shri Krishna.
Shankhachuda performed the penance to appease God Brahma.
Brahma granted him the boon of being invincible to all gods. He also gave him the divine amulet of Krishna, which will give success every where he go.
Shankhachuda was crowned the king of demons. He attacked heaven and made gods to flee the place.
He married to a chaste lady, Tulasi. A fierce battle happened between gods and demons for many years.
A celestial voice was heard saying that as long as Shankhachuda wears the amulet and his wife maintains her chastity, he will remain invincible.
God Vishnu disguised himself as a poor man and got amulet as alms. God Vishnu disguised himself as Shankhachuda and broke down the chastity of his wife.
As soon as these 2 things happened, God Shiva beheaded Shankhachuda in battle ground.
