Difference between cheetahs and leopards

 Day before yesterday, we brought 8 cheetahs from Namibia.

After watching them on TV, I thought we have them in our forests. Then

 what is the  need to bring them from Namibia?

In Indian forests, we have leopards not cheetahs. 

These 8 cheetahs are the only cheetahs in our country. 

They were declared extinct in our country 70 years back. 

What we have brought from Namibia are African cheetahs.

In India, we had Asiatic cheetahs. But extensive hunting and loss of their

 habitat lead to their extinction. Now few of them are survived only in Iran.

Cheetahs are the fastest running animals but not leopards. 

 

Both leopards and cheetahs can climb trees. 

Unlike other wild cats, cheetahs are not an active threat to humans. 

Cheetahs are friendliest to humans. Kings used to take cheetahs with

 them during hunting. 

People say that we can differentiate between leopard and cheetah based on

 the black marks found on their skin. 

But who is going to take the risk of identification after all they are wild

 animals   !!! 

Story of demon Viradha in Ramayana

 Story of Viradha is found in Ramayana when Sri Rama goes to Dandaka

 forest in his exile period.

Viradha was a huge demon. He had got a boon from God Brahma that no

 weapon would kill him. The boon made him arrogant and fearless. He roam

 around the world attacking all living beings. 

Viradha makes a sudden appearance before Sri Rama, Laxman and Sita.

 Before the brothers can understand what was happening, Viradha had

 snatched Sita.

Soon a fight started between Sri Rama, Laxman and Viradha. 

In a fit of rage, Viradha carried Sri Rama, Laxman and Sita, deep into the

 forest.

When they reached the dense forest, brothers decided to kill Viradha.

The brothers cut off the arms of Viradha. The demon finally fell on the

 ground.

As the demon could not be killed by weapons, the brothers decided to

 strangle and bury him. 

That time, he started to tell his story. 

Viradha was the gandharva by the name  Tumburu . 

He was cursed by Kubera to born as a demon. 

Kubera had said that Tumburu would be relieved of his curse when Sri

 Rama defeats him in a fight. 

When Viradha got buried, he regained his original form as the  gandharva. 

Koun Banega Karodpati question

 This question was asked in Koun Banega Karodpati.

In their natural habitat , which of these animals will not meet 

Penguin ?

1. Leopard seal

2. Polar bear

3. Killer whale

4. Arctic tern

The question itself says , in their natural habitat.

This is the hint .

Now question is very straightforward .

We can see penguin only in Antarctica that is south pole.

We can see polar bears only in arctic region that is north pole .

So , in their natural habitat , penguin will not be seen with polar bears .

But in a zoo , we can see them together !!!

How KARMA haunted Gods......

 This story dates back to Mahabharata .

It was the time when Krishna killed his maternal uncle Kamsa . Now he has

 come to release his parents Devaki and Vasudeva . 

Kansa had held them captive and put them in prison . It was 14 years since

 then . Till Krishna arrives in Mathura , Devaki and Vasudeva were in prison

 itself .

Devaki  asked Krishna that why did he take so much time to come and

 release them ? That time Krishna replied it is all according to their karma .

He further explained , " Devaki in her previous birth , that is in Rama avatar

 , she was Kaikeyi . Kaikeyi was the main reason behind Sri Ram going to

 forest for 14 years . That karma haunted her in her next birth in Krishna

 avatar . She had to repay it .

Devaki was satisfied with this answer . Now she wanted to know who as Sri

 Ram mother  Kausalya born as ? For that Krishna replied Kausalya has born

 as Yashoda .

As in Rama avatar , Rama was away from his mother for 14 years , in 

 Krishna avatar , Krishna has spent his first 14 years of childhood with

 Yashoda . 

Whatever kaikeyi and kousalaya had done in their previous birth, that

 karma now they are experiencing as Devaki and Yashoda. 

KARMA haunts every one. 

Even Gods had to follow according to their karma . 

Koun Banega Karodpati question

 This question was there in the Koun Banega Karodpati program.

Before listening to question, I was not aware of this.

Which animal is found only in India but not in Africa?

1.  Lion

2. Tiger 

3. Elephant 

4. Rhinoceros

Listening to the question, I thought all these animals are present in Africa.

But I have observed that in a jungle, if there are lions present in a forest,

then we will not find tigers over there.

They avoid each other.

Tigers are native to Asia. May be they have not migrated to other places. 

But one thing is sure.

We find leopards, cheetahs, lions and other cats in Africa. But not             

tigers.
