Ohm's law

                                        Ohm's law

Ohm's law is a basic law that all of us have studied. In electrical engineering, there are subjects of circuit analysis which also depends on this law.

What ohm's law states?

Ohm's law states that current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference ( voltage ) across the two points.
We can write it as,

                                   I directly proportional to V

where I = current through conductor
          V = voltage between two points

By introducing the constant of proportionality R = Resistance ,

we can arrive at the usual relationship as ,

                                                 V
                                       I   =   -----
                                                  R
Or we can also write it as ,

                                   V = I R

where R = Resistance of conductor measured in ohms.
