Yesterday was the 5th one day cricket match between India and South Africa . It is a 6 match series where India is leading the series by 3 - 1.
So yesterday's match was somewhat like a series decider match . India had lost the toss and had to bat first . As I have watched the match till past one hour after lunch break , I was able to watch full Indian batting and some of Indian bowling .
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are the openers . Dhawan was hitting 4s and surprisingly Rohit Sharma was hitting 6s .!
Dhawan got out . But Rohit Sharma was still there batting . Then Virat Kohli came , Rahane , Pandya , Iyer , Dhoni ... everyone came but could not occupy crease for a long time .
Hardik Pandya came to crease , faced the ball and gave a direct catch to South African wicket keeper and left for a duck ( 0 run ) . He could have stayed in the dressing room . Rohit Sharma went on to score a 100 .
Finally it was Bhuvaneshwar Kumar , whose efforts resulted in a challenging score of 274 .
Yesterday was packed with some more surprises . Indian bowling started . Hardik Pandya came for bowling . I thought he is going to help South Africa by giving runs . But sweet surprise was that instead of giving runs , he was able to bowl in such a way that 2 important and in form South African batsmen , Duminy and de Williers were tempted to go for a big hit and hence got caught by Indian fielders .
Finally , India managed to win the match thereby winning the series also .
But I was thrilled to watch Hardik Pandya back in form in bowling . He is an all rounder and I am sure he will soon find his batting form too .
