 The above question was asked on Koun Banega Karodpati program recently.

Which country has the maximum number of time zones ??

USA 

Russia 

France 

United Kingdom 

Answer 

After listening to the question, I thought it should be either Russia or United States of America. 

Because both are vast in size. 

But correct answer is  France !!!!

I am not talking about Metropolitan country France.

Like many other colonial  powers, France has territories outside France,  in fact through out the world !!!

The territories have exactly same government structure as rest of France. They have more autonomy and can pass their own rules.

Frances's overseas territories are very scattered. Taking in Caribbean, South America,  Indian ocean,  Pacific ocean and also in Antarctica !!!!

This gives France a lot of time zones..

France has a presence on all the 5 continents  !!!!
