Ravana and Kubera are step brothers.
Once Ravana defeated Kubera in the fight. He looted Alakanagari where Kubera resides.
After all this, Ravana was flying back to Lanka in his Pushpaka Vimana. Pushpaka Vimana was stuck at a place.
Ravana was unable to move it what all he tried to.
Ravana got down from Pushpaka Vimana and spotted Nandi standing as a guard.
Ravana went near Nandi and asked him why is he unable to fly across this place ?
That time Nandi replied This is Kailash where divine couple God Shiva and Goddess Parvati reside.
Now they are spending private time together and no one is allowed to pass through Kailash at this time.
Hearing that, Ravana called Nandi a MONKEY.
Ravana tried to enter inside forcibly.
Enraged by this, Nandi cursed Ravana that monkeys will destroy you in future.
We know how in Ramayana, monkeys with their army invaded Lanka and conquered it.
