Today morning I had written about sundogs.
Now I am writing about sun candles.
How does a sun candle look like ??
A bright, flame like vertical beam of light appears directly below the Sun.
It resembles a candle flame piercing through clouds !!!
Sun candle forms when sunlight reflects off tiny, flat plate like hexagonal ice crystals drifting horizontally in the atmosphere.
But they are typically invisible from ground level.
Pilots frequently encounters them.
Sundogs are formed as the refraction of sunlight and appears on either side of Sun.
Sun candles are the reflection of sun light and appears in an elongated form below the Sun.
