A beggar who was staying at Himalayan had visited a kingdom nearby.
When the king heard of the beggar he was curious to know how he is managed to live in such extreme cold conditions.
Beggar said he got adjusted to such cold conditions as he had no other options.
Listening to that king felt very bad and he assured the beggar that he will provide him with some warm clothes during night.
Soon after saying that, king got busy with his work and he totally forgot about the beggar.
Beggar stood outside the palace thinking that king is going to help him as he promised
That night was very cold . Beggar spent the night sitting outside the palace.
King was tired doing his work and he also went to bed without thinking of beggar.
When it was next day morning , King observed the beggar who is sitting in front of palace.
Beggar was totally frozen and unconscious because of the cold conditions and he was treated immediately.
King was surprised because beggar who spent his days in Himalayas, was frozen and unconscious for the cold conditions !! !!!
He asked his doubt with beggar who later regained consciousness.
Beggar said,
" I was self confident that I can tolerate the cold conditions till you offered me help of providing warm clothes.
The unwanted help from you lowered my self confidence level.
Moral : Unwanted help is always injurious to self confidence.
