The tree which grants every wish
Long ago, there lived a poor man in a village. He was unable to make two ends of string to meet together. Because of this, his wife and children were having tough time. They were fed up of this type of life. They started pressurising poor man to go to city and find a job there.
To reach city, people have to pass through a forest. Old man agreed to go to city. One day he left also. But when he was walking through the forest, he felt thirsty and hungry. He sat under the shade of a tree . At that time, a woman came near him.
By seeing her, poor man was very surprised. He asked her what is she doing alone in the forest? For that, old woman replied that she is an angel. She asked the man the reason for his journey. Man explained everything. He said presently he is feeling very thirsty and hungry.
Angel showed him a tree and asked him to hit the tree with axe once. Then he will get enough water to drink. Likewise, she showed another tree and asked him to hit the tree twice with axe. Then he will get enough dishes to eat. Man was very happy.
He quenched his hunger. Then he remembered his family. He asked the angel ,Can he build a house under the trees? Angel agreed but warned him that to use trees only in essential conditions. Poor man agreed. He brought his family along with him.
His children were amazed by power of trees. Eventhough the poor man protested, children went on hitting the trees. Nothing happened. Now they were sure that angel has told false things. They started exploiting the trees. But one day, as they hit the tree, instead of water blood came from it.
They were washed away in that river of blood.
Moral : Being greedy is harmful
