The first African slave
The first African slave who has taken Islam as his religion is Bilal. Those times were horrible for Aricans. They were sold in markets as slaves.
The owners who bought them were exploiting them. Bilal was one of such slave. One day, prophet Mohammed was walking on the road, they observed the difficulties faced by poor man. There itself, they offered money to owner so that he can free him.
After getting his freedom, Bilal was attracted by preachings of Mohammed and took Islam as his religion thus becoming the first African slave to get converted to religion Islam.
