How do pigeons find their way home?
In earlier times, before the invention of modern communication means, people used pigeons to give news to another person lived in a far away place.
Letters were tied to their legs and they were made to fly. Like this , pigeons were the means to carry secret messages as no one try to catch and question them !
There are lot of theories explaining the behaviour. They were reaching the destination and after the completion of work, they were returning to their original place too. That does mean that they remember their way.
Other theories are ---
1. Pigeons use position of Sun magnetic field to find their way home.
2. Pigeons use land marks to find their way home.
3. Pigeons build a memory map to find their way home.
But it is still a mystery for the behaviour of pigeons .
