Three cheers for electrical engineering !

Today morning around 6 am , there was a loud voice in the house.

After that , the glowing CFL bulb went off . I thought life of CFL bulb must be over and thats why it has went off. But it is the same case with other bulbs too.

We tried to switch ON tubelight. But it didn't flicker . We thought power / electricity is not there . But power was there as our refrigerator was working.

That implies power is still there. But none of the bulbs or fans are not getting ON.

Then we looked at power indicators . Every house  has 2 of them . One is for lighting circuit and another for heating circuit .

The indicator bulbs inside both of them were glowing .....

Then where is the problem ???

????

???

If the fuse had melt , then the indicator bulbs will not glow as circuit will be open .

Finally , I concluded .....

Power is there . Heating circuit is working fine as refrigerator is working . Lighting circuit power indicator bulb is glowing , that means no fuse wire melt down .

But none of the bulbs or fans were getting ON.

I nailed the culprit .......

It is our invertor.

Invertor was spoiled . Invertor was getting the power supply from lighting circuit . We made this arrangement since invertor must not be used for heating circuit apparatus such as refrigerator , washing machine , grinder , water pumps etc.

So invertor was made to get power supply directly from lighting circuit such as bulbs , fans , television etc. The other lighting circuit apparatus were attached to inverter .
That means , when the power goes OFF , inverter was getting ON and it was supplying its stored power to lighting circuit apparatus.

So , we could switch ON lights , fans even in the absence of electricity.

Now invertor got spoiled. . Now there is an open circuit in the place of invertor. So , power even though it is present , could not reach the apparatus ( bulbs , fans ) because of this open circuit . After coming to know all these , my father gave the power supply directly to lighting circuit . Now invertor is not a part of it.

After this arrangement , our bulbs and fans are glowing / turning.

This is Electrical Engineering ! Proud to be a part of it .
