Facts about human blood

                                 Facts about human blood

Human blood is red in colour. The pigment which is responsible for this red colour is haemoglobin. The blood of all the animals are not red in colour. For example the blood of cockroach is white in colour. Cockroach's blood has pigment called haemocyanin which gives white colour.
Human blood mainly consists of 3 parts. They are -----
1. Red Blood Corpuscles (RBC)
2. White Blood Corpuscles (WBC)
3. Platelets
With the deficiency of RBC, anaemia is the well known disease. Many women in India die while in labour because of this. Some type of cancers like lukemia is also due to deciancy of this.
WBC are soldiers of our body. They fight against any foreign particles that entered our body. Now there is strange disease called Multiple Sclerosis (MS) . It is not due to deficiency of WBC. But it is due to over action of WBC. In auto immune disease like MS , WBC are attacking the own brain tissues causing the damage to outer covering of nerves called Myelin thus resulting in difficult of motion of patients. Athritis is also a type of auto immune disease where WBC attacks the cells of joint.
Haemophilia is the disease due to lack of sufficient amount of platelets in blood. Platelets are necessary for clotting of blood. Lack of them causes the blood to flow continuously without stopping.
Human blood is believed to do more than 500 functions. But we know only some of them like they are responsible for transport of oxygen to minute cells of our body.
