Story of how Ramu won over his stage fear
Ramu is a student of elementary school. Once he had to participate in a speech contest. He prepared well for the competition in the house.
With full of hopes , he went to the venue. Since it is a competition arranged for the annual day celebration of school, many people had gathered. One of the scholars of city was presiding the function. Ramu had thought that competition would be arranged in one of the classrooms and one of his teachers would be the judges . But here, everything is opposite.
Seeing the crowd itself, Ramu started to feel uneasy. When his name was called, he reached the dias. But he forgot what to speak ! He was very embarrassed. Some people booed also . Seeing all these, Ramu started to cry. Tears rolled up in his eyes.
His class teacher was watching all this. She felt bad and she decided to help him. She called him to the side wing and asked what had happened? Wiping his tears Ramu replied that he cant speak infront of so many people.
Teacher asked him to take deep breath. She said that people have come to see how well Ramu can perform? She said Ramu to think the people as his relatives and this function is function of his own house. She said infront of Ramu's own people, nothing will happen.
Ramu again memorised his part of speech and again went near the dias. He requested the m.c. that he will perform and requested to give him a chance. Here again, Ramu is back on stage. He observed the crowd. He spotted his parents who were cheering him. He even saw his neighbourhood people . Now he felt that he is familiar with crowd.
He spoke fluently. As he finished his speech, everyone stood up and clapped. All had come to know what had happened. Ramu even got a special prize in that event.
