Akbar-Birbal story
One day Birbal was late to court of Akbar. Akbar waiting for his arrival. As Birbal came inside, Akbar started asking for reason of late coming. Birbal replied that he was busy pacifying his child. Akbar didnt feel convinced by that explanation.
So, Birbal said Akbar must act as a father and Birbal as his child. Then Akbar will understand the matter . Akbar agreed for this. Now Birbal is acting as child and Akbar as father.
Birbal : I want a cow.
Akbar ordered servants to bring a cow. Servants produced cow in the court.
Birbal : I want to drink the milk of this cow.
Akbar ordered servants to milch the cow. Servants did that and put the milk in a glass. Glass is full. Akbar gave the glass to Birbal.
Birbal drank half of the milk in the glass. Birbal then handed over the glass to Akbar . Akbar was puzzled by this behaviour of Birbal. He asked Birbal what to do with this half full glass.
Birbal : Put this milk in the glass in cow back. I want to see that.
He started crying like a baby.
Now Akbar is in a fix. He understood it is the toughest task on earth to pacify a child. He agreed his defeat. He gave Birbal rewards also.
this is nice; but I had heard another way. same story, but here Birbal asks for a sugar cane. when received, asks them to cut in to pieces. after that he says "why you cut it, now join it and make it one large cane" naturally this was not possible, perhaps at that time strong cellotapes were not around ! Plastic was not there, so blessed days!
