Sacredness in conduct

                               Sacredness in conduct

Long ago, there lived a rich man. He was very god fearing person. He had a wife who is having same qualities like him. Once the couple decided to go to Kashi. They started to travel. After reaching Kashi, they stayed in nearby lodge.
To rich man's horror, his wife was not seen anywhere in morning as he woke up. Tensed husband searched everywhere but it was in vain. He returned home. He was spending time thinking about his wife. Suddenly, he remembered he didnt had a sight of God.
Cursing his absent mindedness, he again went to Kashi. There he was walking on the banks of river Ganga. That time, a woman approached him and fell to his feet. Rich man was puzzled. Then woman replied she is the wife of rich man whom he had lost few months back.
Woman was kidnapped by some dacoits. But listening to her story, they abandoned her . Now woman wants to come with her husband. Now rich man is in a dilemma. He knows she is his wife. But how to believe her story?
Rich man asked her to wait for some days. In the meantime, he consulted one of pundit regarding his confusion. Pundit replied "ask her to take a dip in river Ganga wearing the sindhoor in her forehead. If it is same as before after taking dip, it means whatever she is telling is true."
Rich man was very happy. He asked his wife the same to do. His wife took a dip in river Ganga as told by her husband. To everyone's surprise, the sindhoor she wore on her forehead was intact. By seeing that rich man was assured that his wife is sacred in conduct and they left to their place.
