Bangalore karaga
Everyone knew that in Bangalore, people celebrate Karaga as their main festival. This story explains the origin of Karaga.
Pandavas as they finished their lifespan , they started to walk towards heaven. All the Pandavas and with them their wife Draupadi was walking towards heaven. In the path in between , Draupadi fell down. That time, from her hair strands, there born princes who went to help her. The dance performed by them is popular in the name of Karaga.
But when Draupadi fell down, one of her husbands Bhima asked with Yudhistira "Brother, Droupadi has fallen down. What is the reason behind this?". Then Yudhishtira replied " Though Draupadi married all 5 of us, she was having special affection towards Arjuna as he won her in Swayamvara . Because of this mentality, she has fallen down and can not reach heaven with us".
