The states which dont have legislative council
Recently, I came across a survey. It was about most corrupt state in India. We have 28 states now. Without reading the survey result, I imagined our state Karnataka may have topped the list. I was correct ! Karnataka has topped the list.
Now coming to corruption, it all starts from our bureaucrats. That too we have both legislative house ( lower house or Vidhan Sabha ) and legislative council ( upper house or Vidhan Parishad ). The states which have both houses, are called bicameral legislature.
Only 6 states out of 28 , have legislative council.
They are ---
1. Andhra Pradesh
2. Bihar
3. Jammu and Kashmir
4. Karnataka
5. Maharashtra
6. Uttar Pradesh
Now it is very clear why Karnataka has topped the list.
